CORação - Colours of the heart
We often say the world is turning grey: films desaturate, car parks grow monochrome, and timelines feel heavy. CORação is the antidote – an invitation to slow down, leave stress behind, and see beauty in full colour.
Colours and emotions are closely linked. In this collection, the artist aligns each scene with a palette chosen to evoke a single feeling or inner experience – a gesture long familiar to painters, less common in photography.
After moving from Germany to Portugal in 2019, Nico Trinkhaus felt at home in a country where colour is woven into the very heart of life. It’s here in Portugal where he began CORação.
Europe Rising
Europe Rising is a tribute to the continent Nico Trinkhaus calls home — not just by birth, but by heart.
Each image in the series was captured at sunrise, as Europe awakens: quiet streets, golden light, no people, just place.
The project began as a response to Brexit-led division, evolving into a celebration of unity through diversity, and regional identity within connection. It reflects what unites us, what sets us apart, and the quiet beauty of rising together.
Upon completion, Europe Rising aims to feature photographs from every region of Europe — and at the very least, from every member state of the European Union.
